Museum Day

Saturday, April 4, 2020, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is pleased to participate in Museum Day on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Museum Day is an annual celebration hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on April 4. Tickets are available to download here.

Museum Day brings together museums, zoos, and cultural institutions from all 50 states to provide free admission to all Museum Day ticket holders. This experience goes beyond getting visitors through museum doors; it acts as a springboard to empower and help advance the hopes and ambitions of the public, particularly school-aged children and those in underrepresented communities.

This year, Museum Day will celebrate Earth Optimism. Institute visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibits, view educational programming, and act as a senator in a simulated debate about current environmental legislation. Visitors are also welcome to join the Institute’s First Saturday Drop-in tour and special activities with Kids’ Climate Convention.
