Postponed: First Saturday Drop-in Tours

visitor experience

On the first Saturday of each month, the Institute offers 1 p.m. drop-in tours. This discussion-based tour with a thematic focus offers deeper insights into the Institute’s exhibits and programs. Tours will lead into the Today’s Vote program where visitors can debate and vote on Senate legislation.

April’s drop-in tour explores Earth optimism in connection with the Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day. Learn about important leaders and activists who affected change in environmental legislation and the complex legislative process behind these developments. Then join the Institute’s Today’s Vote program and participate in the special Kids’ Climate Convention activities.

Registration with Smithsonian Museum Day or Kids’ Climate Convention is recommended for free admission.

Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To join the tour, pick up a sticker at the Admission Desk.

Regular and specialty tours are also available for groups by appointment. If you would like to book a group tour, please fill out our Group Visit Request Form. Please email for more information.
