The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate (the EMK Institute) is dedicated to educating the public about our government, invigorating public discourse, encouraging participatory democracy, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders. We believe that the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate will be one of the leading organizations working to turn the tide on civic education. Offering a new model for education and outreach, the EMK Institute will invite the American public into the discourse on the challenges facing the nation. Toward that end, the EMK Institute will be a portal into the legislative process and a training ground for the decision-makers of the future.
The Edward M. Kennedy Institute’s small IT team is focused on delivering an amazing staff and visitor experience. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, as Systems Administrator you own the core network.
Senate Immersion Module (SIM) Staff
The Senate Immersion Module (SIM) Staff, reporting to the Education Producer, is primarily responsible for assisting in the facilitation of the Senate Immersion Module Program, including semi-scripted role-playing of party whips, expert witnesses, Senate staffers, and others.
Volunteer & Intern Program Manager
The Volunteer & Intern program manager provides vision for and takes the lead in developing and implementing innovative programs, collaborative events, and partnerships that enhance the growth and effectiveness of EMK Institute’s volunteer, internship, and floor interpretation programs.

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate offers individuals the opportunity to serve Senator Kennedy’s legacy through its Education & Visitor Experience Volunteer Program.
Edward M. Kennedy Institute Education & Visitor Experience Internship
Senator Kennedy believed that each person possesses the power to effect positive change within his or her community. Through this internship program, the Institute aims to further the Senator’s legacy of service by developing a team of passionate and engaged interns to work directly with the Institute’s Education and Visitor Experience team.
