The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is dedicated to educating the public about our government, invigorating public discourse, encouraging participatory democracy, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders.
Senate Education Staff
The Senate Education Staff are responsible for assisting in the facilitation of the Institute’s award-winning Senate Immersion Module (SIM) program and other educational programs. Facilitation of the SIM involves semi-scripted role-playing during a 2.5-hour program in which students in grades 8-12 are assigned roles as Senators and tasked with constructing a piece of legislation in accordance with their assigned role’s interests. Senate Education Staff also facilitate and perform roles in the Institute’s other educational programs, including Today’s Vote, Great Senate Debates, Future Senator, and Pathways to Citizenship. Senate Education Staff may conduct interpretation and tours with school groups, adult groups, and general visitors as needed. This is a part-time per diem position with a flexible schedule.
Visitor Services and Sales Associate
Reporting to the Education and Visitor Experience Program Manager, Visitor Services and Sales Associates are welcoming, helpful, and engaging with groups and visitors. The role requires enthusiastic and outgoing individuals who will greet visitors and groups, explain and sell admission tickets and gift shop merchandise, provide answers and recommendations about visitor experiences offered at the Institute, implement visitor surveys, collaborate on strategies and implementation for outreach to community groups, tour groups, and other potential visitors, and find ways to advance the Edward M. Kennedy Institute’s mission in a collaborative and forward-thinking manner.

Edward M. Kennedy Institute Education & Visitor Experience Internship
Senator Kennedy believed that each person possesses the power to effect positive change within his or her community. Through this internship program, the Institute aims to further the Senator’s legacy of service by developing a team of passionate and engaged interns to work directly with the Institute’s Education and Visitor Experience team.
